Donald Fillipps, MD
Clinical Associate Professor, Pediatrics
Dr. Fillipps has been a practicing general pediatrician since 1985. He is board certified in general pediatrics and he has been a faculty member here at UF since 1998. Dr. Fillipps has worked with the craniofacial team for many years.
Dr. Fillipps’ past primary focus of work has been with general outpatient pediatric primary care and well-baby newborn nursery care. He is now concentrating his efforts toward the care of children with special health care needs and the importance of this population being able to establish a medical home for their care.
Dr. Fillipps has been the medical director of several programs here at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital including; the Newborn Nursery, the CMS Medical Foster Care Program, the CMS Primary Care Program, and the Pediatric Care Coordination Program. He has received the UF College of Medicine Exemplary Teacher Award on several occasions and he has also received the Department of Pediatrics Faculty Teaching Award during his tenure here at UF. Dr. Fillipps has coauthored several peer reviewed publications and case studies and has been involved with one multi-site practice based research study.
