Dr. M. Franklin Dolwick is a professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Director of Hospital Dentistry for Shands Healthcare. He has been a valued member of the UF Craniofacial Clinic team since 1976.
He has extensive experience in the surgical management of alveolar clefts, dental pathology and dentofacial deformities associated with craniofacial deformities. In addition to his work helping patients with cleft lip and palate, Dr. Dolwick has completed extensive, pioneering research on temporomandibular joint disorders and surgical procedures.
In recognition of his contributions to TMJ research, as well as his distinguished career educating UF dental students, Dr. Dolwick was appointed as the College of Dentistry Parker E. Mahan Facial Pain Endowed Professor for a three-year term beginning in April 2013.
